At seven, build an adventure you can talk about

For a seven-year-old who likes asking why, a small mystery provides a clear thread. Choose a problem to solve, a place and a companion. Enjoyment can come as much from listening as from discussing possible answers: there is no need to be an independent reader already.

An example you could request: a garden sign has vanished before a party. The child spots paint marks, asks a friend and discovers the sign was moved for repairs. A mystery without danger, clues that connect to the answer and an understandable ending give your request a precise direction.

If mysteries do not appeal, keep that simple structure for a space expedition or a fantasy quest. Explain what they want to find, what stands in their way and who can help. A specific interest and a touch of humour are more useful than a list of unrelated themes.

When reviewing the story, check the sequence of events and each character's role before approving it. While reading with the child, you can pause to ask which clue seems useful, then carry on. These conversations happen around a story with a fixed sequence: the book does not offer interactive choices.

Does it have to be a detective story?

No. A mystery is just one possibility. You can choose a setting in the creator or describe a personal adventure based on their interests.

Can I specify the clues and the ending?

Yes. The custom-story route lets you provide a summary or write the texts. Include the important elements, then review the story to check how they fit together.

Does the child choose what happens on each page?

No, it is a continuous story. You can imagine other endings together out loud, but the generated book is not a branching game.

How can we use it if reading is still difficult?

Take turns if they want to, or let them listen and talk about the pictures. Personalisation does not replace suitable support and does not guarantee reading progress.

Can the story be written in another language?

Yes, the creator offers 16 writing languages. Choose the book's language separately from the website language and review the text before approving it.
